La Nouvelle-Orléans

By: Glenn Goodhall on 16th Oct 2013

First night in New Orleans we decided to investigate an abandoned six flags theme park that we heard about. When we got close to the entrance we couldn't believe our luck when the gate was open, we decided to investigate.

We couldn't believe that most of the rides were still there, all be it a bit warn out looking and graffiti covered but were still intact. It was as if it was a setting of a horror movie and we were waiting for someone to jump out at us. We had a good look around took some great photos but left before it got too dark, Simon's scared of the dark.

We decided to take a look around the French quarter, as we did we saw a few tramps fighting over a bottle of booze, which was quite amusing my money was on the bald fella but he spent a lot of time on the floor.

we booked a steam boat tour along the Mississippi River. I really enjoyed the boat trip the live jazz band were pretty good and finished with 'When the saints go marching in' which I'm sure Jeremy would have loved.

What have I told you about getting drunk and fighting in public! Glad to see you are still enjoying the trip still missing you but still expect to see more of the continuing tails of the journey. Great to keep up in skype: Don't worry about anything back here the weather still reasonable I'm not sure about the lodger in your bedroom though! Keep typing- Dad
